My side hobby
When people ask me what my hobby is, or when I get to that particular section of my CV, I always feel a little under-accomplished. I don’t really have a hobby. I think it’s because my work is so creatively exhausting, not to mention all-consuming, that my down-time is usually about doing nothing....

Commitments & Keeping Cool
As you get older, there are three unavoidable truths. Gravity sucks. Taxes increase. And you get busier. One minute you’re selfishly suiting yourself, doing what you want, buying what you will. And before you know it, you’re working overtime to pay off a mortgage, checking off an endless list of bridal and baby shower gifts, balancing friend and boyfriend time, all the while studying on the side and trying to read/sleep/socialise once in a while....

Setting Goals – but Missing them too!
There are two kinds of people. Those who live life strategically. And those who are more day-to-day than big-picture. I used to belong to the former group. I had it all planned out. What I’d study at uni, my complete career progression, when I’d marry and have children, how I’d wear my hair as a nana, and so on....

Think fresh, get healthy.
I’m healthy to the point of utter boredom these days. Just how boring? Well my favourite foods are tofu, tempeh, nuts … See? I won’t go on because it doesn’t make for the most exciting blogging. But what I do have to say is this: once you make the decision to be healthy, it’s a great place to be. I’m not meaning to sound preachy. You get to that point when you’re ready. Although, of course, hopefully it’s before you get so sick that you have no choice....
